Synopsis

Tango cannot be truly understood by its individual bits and pieces, and constructing a holistic understanding—a cultural awareness—of tango does not happen overnight. Throughout my exploration of tango, I worked to uncover and interpret meanings within the tango world. More importantly, I became an integral part of the tango world myself, helping to create and contribute to its continual evolution, collectively representing and collaborating with the community of dancers, and building additional layers of self-identity in the process. Between 2 is the map of that journey and that process.

Between 2: Tango as Interactive Design was produced between 2006-2008 in partial completion of the requirements for the Master of Fine Arts degree from the department of Design, Housing, and Apparel within the College of Design at the University of Minnesota.
