Acknowledgments

Thank you to my faculty committee members, James Boyd-Brent—for sharing stories and poetry to inspire new ideas, and Faith Clover—for her appreciation of art and culture, and particularly to my advisor, Brad Hokanson, for getting me started, and for his excellent lead. Special thanks to the Twin Cities tango community and everyone who ever invited me to dance, and to all my design professors, instructors, and classmates in DHA, for teaching me how.

Dedicated to Helen; the real dancer in my family.
